Building the perfect Florida football recruit, the 2027 DL prototype

There is no such thing as a perfect recruit, but what if we could make one?
Better yet, if college coaches built a high school football player in a lab, what he look like? What would be the most important traits?
Basically, what would the Frankenstein Recruit look like?
Obviously, there really isn't one mold that would work. No coach is looking for a 335-pound wide receiver or a wiry, 175-pound speedster at defensive tackle.
Different positions have different requirements, which means every position is going to have the different desired attributes.
Using only Florida high school players from the 2027 recruiting class, USA TODAY Florida Network recruiting reporters Jon Santucci and Nick Wilson are building a Frankenstein Recruit at each position.
Here is the defensive lineman they built:
Frame: Errol Demontagnac, Armwood
USA TODAY Florida Top 100 rank: No. 56
Verbal commitment: Nebraska
At 6-foot-3 and 290 pounds, Demontagnac has a build that pops. To be an effective defensive lineman at the Power 4 level, you need a wide base, big hands, and sturdy foundation — all of which he possesses. Demontagnac is a gap-eater that uses his size at a high-level. There are a lot of things the Nebraska commit does right, but it all starts with a frame that made him one of the more coveted players in the state.
Mentality: Jamar Thompson, West Boca
USA TODAY Florida Top 100 rank: No. 24
Verbal commitment: Georgia Tech
Thompson is an ideal prospect in a lot of ways, but his mentality is what sets him apart. Simply put, the Yellowjacket commit is a dog. He rarely came off the field for a West Boca defense that gave up double-digits just four times on the way to a state title, waging war up front every series he was on the field for. Thompson (6-3, 305 pounds) takes pride in creating violence in the trenches, a very good trait for a position that requires toughness and stamina at all times.
Strength: Tyler Alexander, Palm Beach Central
USA TODAY Florida Top 100 rank: No. 47
Verbal commitment: Texas
The SEC has had the reputation of being a defensive league for decades now, so it makes sense the Longhorns sent the house at one of the most physically-dominant defensive prospects in the state. Alexander's strength pops on tape and in person. The 6-4, 315 pound Texas commit racked up 20 tackles for loss last year, working through double-teams and winning bull-rushes behind his elite top-shelf strength.
Twitch: Santana Harvey, Lakeland
USA TODAY Florida Top 100 rank: No. 34
Verbal Commitment: Clemson
Harvey (6-4, 230 pounds) is a versatile athlete up front, and a lot of that has to do with his twitchiness and explosiveness. The Clemson commit has elite burst off the line that bigger tackles struggle to move with. When he works inside, he has a deep bag full of quick moves that stimmy offensive linemen and he has shocking chase down speed behind the line of scrimmage.
Leverage: Maleek Lee, Booker
USA TODAY Florida Top 100 rank: No. 48
Verbal commitment: Georgia Tech
Lee (6-3, 270 pounds) is a sturdy defensive lineman that uses his size and technique to create great leverage. He has a high understanding of the position, and wins matchups working what the offensive line gives him. He has great hand placement, stays upright, and uses a strong base to win positioning.
