Can't Wait For Saturday Conference Countdown Continues: SEC is No. 2 (by a lot) so it is trying harder

So, I already ranked the teams, 1 to 40.

How am a feeling about the conferences? There are 10 playing in the Football Bowl Subdivision. As the season approaches, here is my list — in reverse order of course.

If you think I've lost my marbles with the order, let me have it at . Remember, I'm sensitive so please no digital booing if that is a thing.

2. SEC 16

Texas

— Before addressing the Longhorns, how much does everyone want to see Lane Kiffin and LSU fail this season? What a pain and he just got there. Unfortunately for the Tigers, Texas visits Baton Rouge on Nov. 14, possibly as the No. 1 team in the nation. Good luck with that.

— The Heisman Trophy race and Arch Manning's place in it will be a hot topic all season in Austin. Still can't believe a Manning has never won the award. It would be pretty cool to see the Texas player surrounded by Archie, Peyton and Eli at the New York ceremony.

— Manning is the headliner in Austin. but it is the overall talent that makes Texas a national title contender. Transfer receiver Cam Coleman will help. So will three starters on the offensive line and the SEC's best pass rusher, Colin Simmons.

Mississippi at Texas, Oct. 24.

Ask me to list the second-most likely SEC team to play for the national title and it is the Rebels. The team got a taste of success last season and brings back star Trinidad Chambliss. There will be Heisman votes on the line if both teams enter the game undefeated.
