The Michigan Wolverines have many glorious memories with Charles Woodson.

Now, they'll get to add Charles Woodson Jr. to the ledger.

The Class of 2027 safety has committed to play for the Wolverines, according to Rivals

He follows in the footsteps of his father, who was a Heisman Trophy winner and eventually made the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Just for sentimentality, it's a huge win for Michigan in recruiting.

Woodson Jr. is ranked as a three-star recruit by Rivals, and he plays his high school football at Lake Nona in Orlando, Florida.

Listed at 5-foot-11 and 155 pounds, Woodson Jr. will likely bulk up in his senior year and then into his college career.

He had notable offers from the likes of Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Kentucky, Syracuse and South Florida.

In the end, Woodson Jr. went where his father had made such a historic name for himself.

It's a recruiting win decades in the making for the Wolverines. When Woodson Sr. was in high school in Fremont, Ohio, he was right smack dab in the middle of the Michigan-Ohio State rivalry. Northwest Ohio, where Woodson Sr. hails from, is split in its fandom as far as The Game is concerned.

The all-time great ended up in Ann Arbor.

Decades later, his son follows suit and will try to make his own name, too.
