The Asbury Park Press is highlighting the top Shore Conference football performances each week during the 2026 season. Here are the stars from the sixth week of the season.
Alex Staten, Donovan Catholic:
Staten, a senior running back, raced for a school single-game record 371 yards on 18 carries for an average of 20.6 yards a carry with touchdown runs of 55 and 64 yard and also had an 18-yard TD reception on a rocket screen in the No. 1 Griffins' 51-13 win over No. 4 and previously unbeaten Rumson-Fair Haven. Staten has 550 yards and three TDs on 37 carries over the last two weeks in games against teams that were unbeaten at the time and had 869 yards and nine TDs on 85 carries on the season.
Jaxon Pacheco, Brick Memorial:
A senior two-way lineman, Pacheco had three tackles for a loss, three solo tackles and was in on five tackles in all and helped pave the way for an offense that scored 41 points in the first half and accumulated 436 yards in the No. 3 Mustangs' 41-14 win over Neptune. Pacheco has seven tackles for a loss, two sacks and has been in on 18 tackles on the season.
Levi Foote, Southern:
Foote, a senior running back/defensive lineman, ran for 108 yards and three TDs on 10 carries and had a sack, a tackle for loss, two solo tackles and was in on six tackles in all in the No. 5 Rams' 28-3 win over Central. Foote, who is also a two-time region champion wrestling and has made a commitment to wrestle at Davidson in college, has rushed for 346 yards and four TDs on 36 carries and has four tackles for a loss, two sacks. 16 solo tackles and has been in on 30 tackles on the season.
Wesley Tanner, Toms River North:
A senior running back/wildcat quarterback/defensive back, Tanner ran for a career-high 208 yards on 18 carries and two 2-point conversions with TD runs of 30 and 7 yards and had a 65-yard TD reception from sophomore quarterback Frank Slaughter in the No. 6 Mariners' 29-23 win over No. 12 Manalapan. He also had three solo tackles, broke up a pass and had seven tackles in all. Tanner, who did not play in Weeks 2 and 3, has run for 410 yards and five TDs on 38 carries and had a TD reception in the last two weeks to give Toms River North, which is playing without standout senior linebacker/tight end Jack Baker and star quarterback/defensive back Cole Garrison, a major boost.
Anthony Christiani, Middletown North:
Christiani, a junior wide receiver/defensive back, had five receptions for 126 yards with a 32-yard TD reception from junior quarterback Derek Grasso and had five solo tackles and seven tackles in all in the No. 7 Lions' 27-6 win over No. 10 St. John Vianney. Christiani has 20 receptions for 377 yards and three TDs and has eight solo tackles and 24 tackles in all on the season.
Aidan Dombrowsky, Point Pleasant Borough:
A senior defensive end, Dombrowsky had a sack, a tackle for a loss and eight tackles in all in the No. 8 Panthers' 29-7 win over Lacey. Dombrowsky has five tackles for a loss and has been in on 36 tackles for the season.
Matt Scheinman, Holmdel:
Scheinman, a senior defensive back/running back, had two sacks, five tackles for a loss , was in on 15 tackles and picked up 55 yards rushing on nine carries in the No. 9 Hornets' 12-0 win over No. 13 Middletown South. Scheinman has seven tackles for a loss, has been in on 51 tackles and rushed for 122 yards and a TD on 29 carries on the season.
Montrell Carter, Pinelands:
A junior linebacker, Carter continued his outstanding season by recording four tackles for a loss, four solo tackles and 13 tackles in all in the No. 15 Wildcats' 33-0 win over Lakewood. Carter has 11 tackles for a loss, 6.5 sacks 34 solo tackles and has been in on 59 tackles on the season. He has four games with 10 tackles or more. Pinelands is 6-0 for the first time in its 46-season history. It has outscored its opposition 196-6, has recorded five straight shutouts and not allowed a point in 17 quarters.
Sean Euell, Matawan:
Euell, a junior, had 11 solo tackles and 16 tackles in all, ran for 42 yards and a TD on 14 carries and had three receptions as the No. 16 Huskies snapped a three-game losing streak with a 20-13 win over No. 17 Marlboro. Euell has 25 solo tackles and 43 tackles in and has rushed for 379 yards and four TDs on 85 carries for the season.
Marko Brown, Raritan:
A senior, Brown ran for a career-high 118 yards and a TD on nine carries in the No. 18 Rockets' 35-7 win over Toms River East.
Chancellor Joseph, Barnegat:
Joseph, a sophomore wide receiver/defensive back, had four receptions for 40 yards with TD receptions of 2 and 25 yards from freshman quarterback Zach McCrohan, a 61-yard punt return for a TD and three solo tackles in the No. 19 Bengals' 35-0 win over New Egypt. Barnegat is 6-0 for the first time since 2013 and has outscored its opposition 214-13 with four shutouts.
Donovan Hicks, Monmouth:
A junior defensive lineman, Hicks had three tackles for a loss and was in on 10 tackles in all as the Falcons limited Brick Township to 67 yards rushing on 35 attempts and 89 yards of total offense on 43 plays in a 5-0 win. Hicks has six tackles for a loss and has been in on 33 tackles on the season. Monmouth is 6-0 for the first time since 2006.
Anthony Kokotis, Freehold Township:
Kokotis, a sophomore who was taking the place of injured starter Dakota Lasater at quarterback, was 10-for-16 for 198 yards and three TDs as the Patriots defeated Freehold Borough 35-8. It is the fifth straight season Freehold Township has defeated Freehold Borough. Senior and Monmouth University recruit Jake Schultzel had TD receptions of 44 and 35 yards. Kokotis' other TD pass was to senior Mikey Lorenzo. The Patriots cut the Colonials' lead in the series to 23-19-3.
Jeffrey Hare, Toms River South:
A senior linebacker, Hare had a sack, three tackles for a loss and five tackles in all in Toms River South's 34-6 win over Colts Neck. Toms River South allowed just 15 yards rushing on 10 attempts and 105 yards on 24 plays.
Nicholas Laforge, Howell:
Laforge, a senior linebacker, had two tackles for a loss, five solo tackles, 11 tackles, an interception and a fumble recovery in Howell's 38-7 win over then No. 18 Jackson Township. Howell limited Jackson Township to just 65 yards of total offense. Laforge has 16 solo tackles, 31 tackles in all, two fumble recoveries and an interception on the season.
Aamir Byrd, Ocean:
A junior defensive lineman, Byrd had two tackles for a loss and was in on 11 tackles in all in the Spartans' 42-7 win over Long Branch. Byrd has 10.5 tackles for a loss, three sacks and has been in on 41 tackles on the season.
Cameron Beradesco, Asbury Park:
Beradesco, a junior wide receiver, had two TD receptions from sophomore quarterback Braylon Johnson and ran for a TD as the Blue Bishops defeated Keyport 19-0 to pick up their first win of the season.
Trevor Freyer, Manchester:
A junior quarterback/punter, Freyer ran for 164 yards and two TDs on 28 carries, was 7-for-9 for 37 yards with a TD pass and had three punts for a 45-yard average with a long of 60 yards as the Hawks snapped a three-game losing streak with a 29-26 win over Keansburg.
