Nebraska football defeated Maryland 48-23 on Saturday afternoon in a bit of an uneven game. After struggling in the first half, the Huskers played much better in the second, scoring 20 unanswered points in the fourth quarter.
For the first time since 2016, the Huskers are 5-0 and are 2-0 in Big Ten play for the first time since 2017. Nebraska now leads the all-time series between the schools to 4-1 and has now won 15 of its past 17 Homecoming games.
Anthony Colandrea went 26-of-39 on the afternoon, throwing for 238 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception. However, he had a much better game on the ground, carrying the ball 10 times for 108 yards. Colandrea is the first Husker quarterback to top 100 rushing yards since Heinrich Haarberg rushed for 157 yards against Louisiana Tech in 2023.
Kwazi Gilmer had his second straight 100-yard receiving game, tallying 11 catches for 147 yards. He is the first Husker to have back-to-back 100-yard receiving games since Samori Toure in September of 2021.
After an uneven start, Huskers fans were excited about the victory on social media.
