College Football 27 simulations reveal Heisman Trophy possible winners

It’s the most prestigious trophy a college football player could win: the Heisman Trophy. Who can actually do it this season?

There are thousands of players that could win the Heisman Trophy, as several factors like stats, team success and highlight reel moments all help determine who will be named the best player in the sport. To figure out who could be next member of the elite fraternity, USA TODAY Sports simulated the 2026 season 100 times in College Football 27 to see who were the names that were consistently winning the award.

Of course the big names were among the winners, but there were some surprises.

Could the simulation end up being right? The 2025 Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza was one of the names that was in last year’s game, possibly making good news for the several stars that ended up winning the honor in the video game in 2026.

There were 19 different players who won the Heisman Trophy at least once. The majority were quarterbacks with 16 signal callers, two receivers and one running back.
