Week 7 of the college football season is in the books, and now we wait to see how the weekend’s games will impact the latest rankings after a historic flurry of upsets in the top 25. For the first time, five of the top seven teams in the AP Top 25 poll were upset.
There will be several shake-ups at the top of the new poll later this afternoon, but luckily, one AP Top 25 voter who always shares some early insight into how things could play out is respected media veteran Brett McMurphy, who is transparent enough to share his ballot each and every week.

On Sunday, McMurphy released his rankings for Week 8, with the Miami Hurricanes taking over the No. 1 spot after surviving Florida State in double overtime. BYU, meanwhile, climbs to No. 2 after upsetting Notre Dame with the help of some controversial calls down the stretch.
Falling out of McMurphy’s rankings this week were the Oklahoma State Cowboys, Missouri Tigers, and Mississippi State Bulldogs, while the Northwestern Wildcats, Florida Gators, and New Mexico Lobos entered the top 25.
We will find out the official rankings when the AP Top 25 poll is released at approximately 2:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, October 11. Until then, you can view McMurphy’s full ballot here.
