Week 2 has arrived, and it's time to dive into the emerging market of college football player props for Saturday, Sept. 12.

I've selected my five favorite player props and college football picks, featuring two undervalued wide receivers, two analytic-darling running backs, and a Heisman contender at quarterback.

Prop pick #1: Kyler Kasper Over 2.5 receptions

ProphetX probability: 51%

BYU needs some pass-catchers to step up after losing their top three options from a year ago. They combined for 166 receptions for 2,350 yards and 14 touchdowns, creating a gaping void for a 12-win team that has big aspirations in 2026.

Enter Oregon transfer Kyler Kasper. The former four-star recruit struggled to stay healthy in Eugene, but he's ready to roll in Provo now and will play a big role for the Cougars after leading the team in pass snaps and targets in the opener. 

The matchup may appear difficult on the surface as Arizona had a nasty secondary last year, ranking ninth in yards allowed per dropback and 10th in passing success rate allowed. Well, all of those players are gone, including several NFL Draft selections, so there's value in fading this secondary early as the market lags in adjusting expectations. 

BYU returns quarterback Bear Bachmeier and a strong offensive line, and the Cougars will move the ball and score plenty of points. Kasper is locked into a starting WR spot and will have a productive season, so Over 2.5 receptions is a gift.

Prop pick #2: Mario Craver Over 51.5 receiving yards

Texas A&M had two go-to receivers last season: KC Concepcion and Mario Craver. The Aggies are now down to one after Concepcion was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the first round of the NFL Draft.

That vacates 101 targets for 61 catches and 919 yards, plenty of which should now go in Craver's direction. The slot man averaged a robust 3.25 yards per route run and has an established connection with quarterback Marcel Reed, so it's wheels up in 2026.

Arizona State loses nine starters to a defense with a big question mark at pass rush. That's not a position you want to be in traveling for an early kick at a juiced-up Kyle Field with dangers like the Reed-to-Craver connection awaiting.

Prop pick #3: Duke Watson Over 45.5 rushing yards

Duke Watson always had appealing numbers for Louisville, gaining 602 yards and averaging 8.7 yards per carry as a freshman in 2024 before spending most of his sophomore campaign injured. 

He's since transferred to UCF, where he's seized the starting running back role. The Knights will hope to get the most out of the ultra-talented Watson, as his career 3.87 yards after contact per attempt is eye-catching even if he's never seen 70+ carries in a season. 

The opener was a positive. Even though he only handled seven carries, he took them for 110 yards and a touchdown. He was the primary back utilized with the first-team offense, a role that should continue going forward. 

Pittsburgh had great numbers against the run a year ago but lost star linebackers Kyle Louis and Rasheem Biles, who combined for 182 tackles, 25.5 tackles for loss, and 82 run stops. Watson's a home-run hitter who only needs a big run or two to hit this lowly number.

Prop pick #4: CJ Carr Over 2.5 passing touchdowns

Going into the season as the Heisman Trophy odds favorite, CJ Carr may have disappointed some folks with his 239-yard performance against Wisconsin in the opener. I wouldn't overreact, as Notre Dame's retooled and rearranged offensive line was under siege and Carr had little time to throw, yet still demonstrated why he's a future NFL quarterback. 

It'll be a different story in Week 2 as Carr will have all day to throw against a lowly Rice defense that surrendered 32.9 ppg last year while ranking dead last in explosives allowed. That's a death sentence against Carr, who will hit big shot after big shot to receivers like Jordan Faison and Jaden Greathouse.

Carr averaged 2.0 passing touchdowns per game a year ago. That was his first year as a starter, and 29 touchdowns were siphoned off to the superstar running back duo of Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price. 

The statistical output will be much greater for Carr in 2026, and don't let the opener fool you. He'll slice and dice this Rice defense.

Prop pick #5: Justice Haynes Over 65.5 rushing yards

ProphetX probability: 48%

Justice Haynes started last year as one of the most productive backs in the country, averaging 122.4 yards on the ground through the first eight games of the season. He crossed the century mark in seven of those eight games, and would have done so in his lone miss against USC as well if he hadn't left injured in the first half.  

Georgia Tech has plans to run Haynes all that they can in 2026. He handled 19 of his team's 25 carries in the opener, a sure sign that volume will be bankable moving forward, especially with a green Alberto Mendoza at quarterback starting the first games of his career.

The Yellow Jackets snapped the ball only 54 times in the opener in a game that had wet conditions and featured some strange special teams giveaways. There should be plenty more snaps available in Week 2 against an uptempo Tennessee squad that played at the fifth-fastest tempo a year ago (2.65 snaps per minute).

Haynes broke five tackles and averaged 3.68 yards after contact per attempt in the opener. It's a continuation of his statistical dominance after putting up 7.1 yards per carry and 3.77 yards after contact with Michigan, so I'm buying the hype.
