Colorado‘s June 5 recruiting weekend has turned into a pivotal few days for the football program.
Four official visitors have already committed to CU’s 2027 class, and that number continues to grow. Three-star safety Samari Howard became the fifth recruit to join the Buffs following his visit over the weekend.
247Sports Composite ranks the Fort Lauderdale native as the No. 709 overall recruit, the No. 69 safety and the No. 61 prospect from Florida. Howard chose the Buffs over West Virginia. He canceled a visit to Morgantown to visit Boulder, but held a Crystal Ball prediction for Colorado since May 26.
In 2025, Howard recorded 34 tackles, four pass breakups and three interceptions. He becomes the Buffaloes’ second safety commitment after four-star Gabe Jenkins and the class’s sixth-highest rated commit per 247Sports’ Composite.
Colorado’s class of 2027 is up to 14 total commitments after a fantastic weekend. The class is ranked No. 36 in the country and sixth in the Big 12.
