Colorado football will have a strong presence at Big 12 Media Days next month, with head coach Deion Sanders bringing six players to the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas.

The Buffs group includes quarterback Julian Lewis, wide receiver Danny Scudero, tight end Zach Atkins and defensive backs Ben Finneseth, Naeten Mitchell and Cree Thomas. Colorado will take part on Tuesday, July 7, as part of the two-day event that runs July 7-8.

Lewis is the headliner after a promising freshman season in 2025, when he threw for 589 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions. He also earned Big 12 Quarterback of the Week honors after his first career start at West Virginia, a strong sign of what Colorado hopes is ahead in 2026.

Scudero gives the Buffs a proven playmaker at receiver after leading the nation in receiving yards last season at San Jose State. Atkins adds experience at tight end, while Finneseth returns as one of the program’s most dependable veteran defenders and special teams contributors.

At the 2025 Big 12 Media Days, Coach Prime made headlines by bringing both of his quarterbacks, Julian Lewis and Kaidon Salter, who were competing for the starting job. Sanders also brushed off health questions to focus on the team, which he would later answer, while the Buffs were picked to finish 10th in a consensus preseason poll.

The league’s preseason showcase will offer an early look at how Colorado plans to replace key pieces and build around Lewis heading into its Sept. 3 opener at Georgia Tech.
