Key Points:

- Meyer put Portnoy on blast for not paying up
The Michigan Wolverines and Ohio State Buckeyes resumed their historic rivalry on the gridiron late last month with the Buckeyes snapping a four-game losing streak in a 27-9 road win.
Prior to the game, Michigan alum and Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy made a Big Noon Kickoff bet with former Ohio State coach Urban Meyer that led to playful smack talk and plenty of speculation and hearsay between the two analysts.
Portnoy wound up losing the bet as Ohio State rolled over the Wolverines, leading Meyer to put the pizza review maven and college football superfan on blast on social media Monday over his unpaid bet.
Portnoy Called Out Over Michigan-OSU Bet
Portnoy’s bet was made with Meyer on ‘The Game’ last month with $1,000 on the line for both college football programs’ NIL (Name, Image and Likeness) funds for athletes.
Portnoy and Meyer shook on the bet, but according to Meyer, it’s been two weeks and the Barstool founder still hasn’t paid up.
“Portnoy still owes me a thousand bucks, I know that,” Meyer said on the Triple Option Podcast’s X page Monday, tagging Portnoy and former New England Patriots star tight end Rob Gronkowski, who said he would ensure that the loser paid up.

The $1,000 plus another $1,000 is earmarked not for Meyer himself but for the two universities according to the verbiage of the original wager.
Buckeyes, Wolverines Await Bowl Games
The Buckeyes and Wolverines are each preparing for bowl games with Ohio State in the College Football Playoff and Michigan in the Citrus Bowl.
The Buckeyes are scheduled to face a to-be-determined team on Dec. 31 at 7:30 p.m. ET while the Wolverines are scheduled to face the Texas Longhorns at 3 p.m. ET on the same day.
The Buckeyes are the field’s second seed and will face the winner of the opening round’s Miami at Texas A&M game, which will pit the 10th-seeded Hurricanes against the 7th-seeded Aggies with a second round spot and chance at the Buckeyes on the line.
