Former Georgia Bulldogs All-American defensive lineman David Pollack serves as the defensive line coach for North Oconee High School in Bogart, Georgia. North Oconee is about a 20 minute drive from Pollack’s old stomping grounds, Sanford Stadium.
Pollack is not the only notable football player in his family. Pollack’s son, Nicholas Pollack, is a three-star tight end recruit. Pollack announced his commitment to the Clemson Tigers shortly after taking an official visit to Clemson. The Tigers offered Pollack on May 22 and he did not waste much time announcing his commitment. Pollack also plays outside linebacker for North Oconee High School.
North Oconee has been a pipeline for Georgia football recently. Georgia safety Khalil Barnes, a Clemson transfer, attended North Oconee along with Georgia wide receivers Landon Roldan and Dallas Dickerson. Georgia pass rusher Khamari Brooks also attended North Oconee.
Pollack committed to Clemson over Wake Forest, East Carolina and Cincinnati. The 6-foot-3, 220-pound tight end never received a scholarship offer from Georgia football and coach Kirby Smart.
Pollack is ranked as the No. 1,130 recruit in the country, the No. 57 tight end and the No. 130 recruit in Georgia, per 247Sports. The North Oconee standout also plays basketball and can dunk.
