Washington has reeled in one of their top targets in the class of 2027.

Pflugerville Weiss (Texas) four-star wide receiver Tre Moore, committed to the Huskies over Miami and Ohio State on Tuesday as Washington continues to pile up wins on the recruiting trail. Moore is ranked the No. 160 overall player and No. 21 wide receiver in the 2027 class by the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Moore hauled in 85 receptions for 1,443 yards and 19 touchdowns as a junior last season, setting up for an even bigger senior year. He also had 38 receptions for 562 yards and 6 touchdowns as a sophomore in 2024.

247Sports recruiting analyst Mike Roach reported on May 15 that the “buzz behind Washington is tough to ignore” in Moore’s recruitment despite a hard push by Miami, who got a visit from Moore on May 29. He is scheduled to make his official visit to Washington in a few weeks on June 19. That visit will also include current commits Reis Russell and Maurice Williams, with offensive lineman Gecova Doyal now the highest priority uncommitted player making the trip to Montlake that weekend.

Listed at 6-2 or 6-3 and 200 lbs, Moore has the prototypical size to play in the Big Ten right away. His film shows a receiver who should compete early on at the X receiver position vacated this offseason by Denzel Boston – a second-round NFL Draft pick by the Cleveland Browns – who can also add value after the catch and on shorter routes the way a Z receiver normally can. With Rashid Williams, Chris Lawson, Dezmen Roebuck, Jordan Clay, Trez Davis, and Bodpegn Miller all able to play at least one of those spots with additional eligibility beyond 2026, Moore’s versatility will be particularly useful to get on the field quickly.

Moore is now the highest-rated commit to Washington on the 247Sports rankings, although Desert Edge (Ariz.) quarterback Blake Roskopf is rated eight spots higher in the class in the composite rankings. The Huskies now have seven blue-chip recruits committed in the class between Moore, Roskopf, Sumner wide receiver Braylon Pope, O’Dea defensive lineman Tevita Nonu, Tustin (Calif.) defensive lineman Jon Ioane, Sandra Day O’Connor (Ariz.) running back Jeremy Adeyanju, and St. John Bosco (Calif.) safety Isala Aisa Wily-Ava.

Moore, Pope, and Desert Edge (Ariz.) three-star Zerek Sidney are all already in the boat at receiver in 2027. Washington has also recently received a crystal ball for Peoria (Ariz.) four-star Dontay Tyson, who is set to announce his commitment on Friday. If Tyson does commit to Washington, head coach Jedd Fisch and wide receivers coach Kevin Cummings will have brought in 13 wide receivers in their first three recruiting cycles, with 5 in 2025, 4 in 2026, and another 4 in 2027. Fisch and Cummings also grabbed 4 receivers in the 2024 class, although some of them were inherited commitments from Kalen DeBoer before he left for Alabama.

Moore is Washington’s first commitment from Texas in the 2027 class, which is still entirely made up of players from the West Coast. Of the Huskies’ 16 commitments, 6 are from California, 4 are in-state recruits, 3 are from Arizona, Russell is from Colorado, linebacker Titus Osterman is from Idaho, and Moore is from Texas.
