Eight Texas State Bobcats selected for All Pac-12 teams

Texas State had eight players selected for one of the three All Pac-12 teams, with three players selected for the first team by the Pro Football Network.

Brad Jackson, Beau Sparks, and Chris Dawn Jr. were the first team selectees for Texas State, while DonTerry Russell, Craig Royal, and Bryce Carter (all defensive players) were selected for the second team. Jaylen Jenkins was selected to the second team as a kick returner but also picked for the third team as a running back. Justin DeLeon was picked for the third team as an offensive lineman.

It should be no surprise that Jackson, Sparks, and Dawn were picked to the first team. They are the most hyped offensive unit in the G6, and are even getting some eyes drawn to them across the college football landscape.

Texas State’s defense will have to step up if the Bobcats want to have a chance at a Pac-12 championship and possibly a CFP berth. The unit struggled last year but have since brought in a new defensive coordinator in the offseason and brought back some of their shining lights for a fifth year. Carter, Royal, and Russell will be tasked with raising the floor of a defense that allowed 30.6 points per game.

Jaylen Jenkins is set to receive a larger share of rushing responsibility after Lincoln Pare finished up his college football playing days for the Bobcats, and Justin DeLeon looks to be Brad Jackson’s key protector on the offensive line.
