ESPN's College GameDay coming to Oxford for Ole Miss-LSU, Lane Kiffin's return

OXFORD – ESPN’s College GameDay is making its return to The Grove.

The popular college football show will be in Oxford on Sept. 19 for the Ole Miss-LSU matchup. It will be the third time the show has been at Ole Miss: in 2014 for the game against Alabama and 2021 for the game against Texas A&M. The Rebels have won both games College GameDay was in Oxford for.

This year’s Magnolia Bowl marks the return of former head coach Lane Kiffin, who led the Rebels to a 55-19 record over six seasons – including an 11-1 regular season in 2025 – and took the LSU job following the Egg Bowl. Kiffin won 10 games or more on four occasions during his Ole Miss tenure; the Rebels have 11 double-digit win seasons in program history. Ole Miss made its first College Football Playoff appearance last season and won a pair of games under head coach Pete Golding, who was elevated from defensive coordinator following Kiffin's departure. The Rebels fell in the CFP semifinals at the Fiesta Bowl to Miami and finished the season ranked No. 3 in the AP Poll.

The Rebels are ranked No. 9 in the preseason AP Poll, and the Tigers are ranked No. 11. Ole Miss won last year’s meeting between the teams 24-19.
