Faizon Brandon injury: Is Tennessee QB OK after exiting vs. Texas?

A raucous Neyland Stadium went silent in the second quarter as a key Tennessee player went down. Faizon Brandon, the freshman quarterback leading the Volunteers against top-ranked Texas, landed awkwardly on a rushing attempt and stayed down for a few moments in pain.

Brandon eventually got up and made his way to the medical tent. Sophomore George MacIntyre entered the game in Brandon's stead.

Prior to exiting, Brandon was 3 of 4 for 9 yards passing. Two of those passes went to Braylon Staley for 11 yards.

UPDATE: Brandon returned to the game for the Vols' next drive. He reportedly got his shoulder looked at.

Who is George MacIntyre?

MacIntyre is a 6-foot-6 sophomore from Franklin, Tennessee. A consensus four-star high school recruit, MacIntyre has appeared in four college games, completing 12 of his 16 passes for 125 yards a touchdown. He's the grandson of former Vanderbilt coach George MacIntyre and nephew of longtime college coach Mike MacIntyre.
