Florida leaps back into Coaches Poll top 25 after road win at Auburn

Florida football remained undefeated to start the Jon Sumrall era after opening up the SEC schedule with a 44-39 victory against Auburn at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday.
The big road win convinced the US LBM Coaches Poll voters to put the Gators back into the top 25, with Sumrall and Co. now sitting at No. 22 — between No. 21 Missouri and No. 23 Washington. Florida's previous high this season was No. 25 after its Week 1 win over FAU.
In this week's rankings, the SEC has 10 teams among the top 25, headlined by top-ranked Texas and second-ranked Georgia, followed by Ole Miss (No. 6), Alabama (No. 8), LSU (No. 11), Tennessee (No. 13), Texas A&M (No. 20), Missouri (No. 21), Florida (No. 22) and Oklahoma (No. 24). Mississippi State landed at the de facto No. 27 spot with 114 votes, while Kentucky (54) and Vanderbilt (29) also appeared on the ballot.
Next up, the Gators return home to host the Rebels on Saturday, Sept. 26, at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m. ET and the game will be broadcast on ABC.
