A former Nebraska quarterback will have another chance at starting this weekend. Jeff Sims is expected to start for Arizona State (5-3, 3-2) on Saturday, as the team takes on Iowa State (5-3, 2-3).
Sims was named the starter after starting quarterback Sam Leavitt was ruled out for the season. This will be his second start this season, after he started earlier this year against Utah.
He's played the last two seasons at Arizona State after spending his first three college seasons at Georgia Tech, before transferring to Nebraska for the 2023 season.
While at Nebraska, he would appear in five games, throwing for 282 yards, one touchdown, and six interceptions. He also ran 42 times for 189 yards and one touchdown.
In 39 career games, he has thrown for 5,096 yards, 32 touchdowns and nine interceptions. Arizona State will play at Iowa State this Saturday at noon.
