A four-star linebacker that the Georgia Bulldogs and coach Kirby Smart targeted has flipped, but it wasn’t to Georgia. Four-star linebacker Kenneth Simon II has flipped from the Alabama Crimson Tide to the Tennessee Volunteers, according to Hayes Fawcett. Simon II is the son of former Tennessee linebacker Kevin Simon.
Simon II is a four-star prospect from the class of 2027. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound linebacker prospect plays high school football for Brentwood Academy in Brentwood, Tennessee. He is the No. 133 prospect and No. 7 linebacker in the nation. He is the sixth-best prospect from Tennessee, where he gets to continue his football career.
Simon II’s choices were down to Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and Oklahoma when he made his original commitment. He originally committed to the Crimson Tide on May 11, 2026. That was surprising considering his father, Kevin Simon, was a Tennessee linebacker. The older Simon was a two-time All-SEC linebacker (2003, 2005), and he is currently their director of player development.
However, Kenneth Simon II has committed to the school his father chose in 2002. The Volunteers haven’t had a great start to their recruiting class, owning just the No. 39 class in the nation. They have 15 recruits, but just four of them are blue-chip, and there are no five-stars.
Georgia has the No. 14 class in the nation. They’ve been very active in recruiting linebackers, earning commitments from the No. 23 linebacker (Joakim Gouda) and No. 60 linebacker (Temorris Campbell Jr.) in the nation.
