The Georgia Bulldogs have not had the strongest spring when it comes to the class of 2027 and trying to lock down another group of high school commits that is up to the standard of the program.

While the game has been changed a bit due to the presence of NIL and the transfer portal, high school recruiting talent is still the lifeblood of any healthy program. For Georgia, they have been kicked around a bit by some of their rivals in this cycle, but the weekend did present the commitment of one huge name they have coveted for some time now.

In-state four-star safety Adryan Cole out of Douglas County High in the Atlanta area has finally jumped aboard, and he provides a massive boost to a class that really needed a few wins if they are going to have one of the best in the nation.

Cole Brings Bulldogs Much-Needed Recruiting Win

Georgia had been projected to land Cole months ago, but the decision wound up taking a whole lot longer than anyone hoped it would and had fans nervous that the defensive back could choose a hated rival such as Florida, LSU or Ole Miss.

Instead, Cole vaults Kirby Smart's 2027 group up to No. 12 in the nation according to 247 and inside the top-15 according to Rivals, still giving them an outside chance at another top-10 class. The Bulldogs had been coveting numerous top safeties in the country over the last couple of months but had not been able to land any of them, and Cole becomes one of the gems of the class.

An in-state kid who has dreamed of playing for Georgia since childhood, Cole could be a future leader of this defense.

What Kind of Skillset Cole Brings to Athens

Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 190 pounds, Cole has the ideal size for an SEC defensive back even just headed into his senior year of high school. With some elite quickness to close gaps along with some tremendous sprint speed as well, the Dawgs may have found a gem here.

Cole is rated just outside the top-150 players in the nation overall and the No. 12 safety as well as the No. 1`5 player in the state of Georgia by 247's composite rankings. Very much a premiere prospect, fans should be ecstatic that the coaching staff was able to lock Cole down.

If they can keep him in the class through signing day, this is one of the best players in the group and could see some early playing time for the Bulldogs.
