The Georgia Bulldogs, Florida State Seminoles and Tennessee Volunteers are all battling it out for four-star safety recruit Ta’Shawn Poole, who is a member of the class of 2027. Poole is down to those three historic programs and has set his commitment date for Friday, July 17 at 6 p.m. ET.
Poole plays high school football for Howard High School in Macon, Georgia. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound safety is one of the top players in the Peach State. Poole is the No. 68 recruit in the country, the No. 5 safety and the No. 5 prospect in Georgia.
The Howard star is predicted to commit to Florida State, per 247Sports. Georgia, Florida State and Tennessee are all hungry for a recruit win with the Seminoles the most desperate of the trio. Florida State has the No. 57 recruiting class in the nation with 13 commitments. The Seminoles have been hurt on the recruiting trail due to head coach Mike Norvell’s murky future and Florida State’s inconsistency on the field.
Tennessee’s recruiting class is not that much better. The Volunteers have the No. 41 class nationally and have 16 commits.
Coach Kirby Smart and Georgia have secured commitments from just two of the Peach State’s top-10 recruits and does not want to miss out on another elite in-state prospect. Georgia sits in the recruiting rankings at No. 16 in the country. UGA has 17 commits.
