Georgia football WR Talyn Taylor on his career day vs. Oklahoma

Georgia football's Talyn Taylor logged a career-high performance in the Bulldogs' 41-13 win over Oklahoma on Saturday, Sept. 26.

The sophomore wide receiver had 4 receptions for 110 yards, including a 41-yard catch and a 35-yard catch for a touchdown.

"You've definitely got to be short minded about that type of thing," Taylor said about the aftermath. "You can always improve on stuff like that. I always strive to be better. That game, you know, obviously, it was a great game but there's stuff I could've worked on, stuff I could've done better and there's always room for improvement."

His touchdown against the Sooners was run on a similar route as the drop he had against Alabama in 2025. It was a moment of retribution for Taylor.

"One moment doesn't define who I am," Taylor said.

In the first two games of the season, he recorded 1 carry for 31 yards and 5 receptions for 59 yards and 2 touchdowns. He did not have any stats at Arkansas.

He only appeared in six games for the Bulldogs as a freshman, including the All-State Sugar Bowl loss to Ole Miss on New Year's Day, and only recorded stats (2 catches for 28 yards) in the win over Austin Peay on Sept. 6, 2025.

Already, he's up to 9 receptions for 169 yards and 3 touchdowns in four games.

His confidence level has been the same since Week 1, because his mindset coming into this year, after the upper-body injury he suffered during practice in 2025, was to strive to get better.

"I know the type of player that I am," Taylor said. I know the plays that I can make, and I know how I can help this team win."
