The Georgia Bulldogs are hosting another home game this week before they hit the road to begin SEC play next week against the Arkansas Razorbacks.
While the second home game of the season does not present a huge test with Western Kentucky coming to town, that does not mean there won't be a significant number of recruits in Sanford Stadium. These early season home games are wonderful opportunities to land some big time prospects, and when it comes to the class of 2028, one guy is already committed to the Bulldogs in No. 1 quarterback Jayden Wade.
In today's day and age though where flips are as common as commitments, you truly never know until signing day. The Dawgs are looking to not only keep Wade, but get him to shut down his recruitment as other schools start to circle. According to some intel from UGA Sports On3, another visit this weekend could be just what Wade needs to make his decision final.
Wade Could Soon Shut Down Recruitment for Georgia
Reports which surfaced in August revealed that Wade is close to closing things down, and interestingly, Michigan tried to get him on campus this weekend for their big matchup against the Oklahoma Sooners. Instead, Wade decided he will return to Athens, something which will only help their case further.
The IMG Academy five-star is currently rated as the No. 2 overall player in the nation by 247, so it makes sense why he's being pursued by just about every school in the country. Wade has made it a point to talk about just how much he loves the Bulldogs program and wants to stay locked in with Kirby Smart and this coaching staff.
If they can indeed get him to shut things down and stay committed to Georgia through signing day, Wade would be one of the top quarterback recruits in the history of the program.
At the end of the day, him denying Michigan and returning to campus yet again is a tremendous sign that he may be ready to do just that. It's a long way to go until signing day, but Wade seems as locked in with the Bulldogs as a recruit can possibly be at this point in the process.
Look for a potential announcement from Wade in the coming week that he is not going to entertain recruitments from any other program.
