Georgia runs hog wild over Arkansas. Sure, that is a little hyperbole, but if the shoe fits for this recap. It wasn’t even that close. Georgia defeated Arkansas 45-17 on an early 11 am esque Jefferson Pilot kick. Arkansas scored a late 4th-quarter touchdown with 40 seconds remaining in the game. For Georgia, it was a win, and the numbers show how elite Kirby Smart and the Dawgs have become in these types of games.

Saturday’s victory was Georgia’s 51st straight victory vs. an AP unranked team. It is the longest streak in the FBS. Georgia’s last loss was against South Carolina in October 2019.
The win in Fayetteville was the 29th straight road victory against unranked opponents, also an FBS record.
Georgia is now 3-0, and 2026 marks the 12th straight year the Bulldogs have won their first three games.

Georgia Runs Hog Wild Over Arkansas

Georgia came into Fayetteville on Saturday leading the nation in scoring. Sure, they beat Tennessee State and Western Kentucky relatively easily. Georgia showed little signs of slowing down on Saturday. The Dawgs scored on eight of their 11 positions.

We’ve all made plenty of jokes about Offensive Coordinator Mike Bobo running the damn ball. Georgia fans will have little to no joking about the running game on Saturday. Smart and Bobo locked in and said we are bigger, faster, and stronger than you, Arkansas. We are gonna line up, and you can’t do anything to stop it.

Gunner Stockton had a pedestrian day at the office through the air. He stayed efficient, finishing 10 of 13 for 143 yards and a score. Stockton led the team, finishing with 97 yards. He showed off his skills in the second quarter when he raced for 62 yards on 3rd and two to set up the Dawgs in the Arkansas Red Zone. Georgia scored its first five touchdowns on the ground.

Nate Frazier and Chauncey Bowens got to show their stuff on Saturday after getting limited work in the first two games. Frazier toted the rock 14 times for 75 yards and one touchdown. Bowens was called on to get more of the tough yardage and score touchdowns, rushing 11 times for 39 yards and three touchdowns.

As a team, Georgia’s final stats show just how lopsided the gap between the two schools was. Georgia finished the day with 254 yards rushing, compared to Arkansas’ measly 17. The Dawgs averaged six yards a carry, whereas the Hogs couldn’t even average a full yard (.0 ypc).

Georgia Sideline Reps

Georgia always likes to raise the standard. The defense did another good job of limiting Arkansas to few big plays and, for the most part, keeping them off the scoreboard. It must have been all of the extra Georgia was getting in during the commercial breaks. Yep. You read that right. Both social media and the ESPN commentators Dave Pasch (play-by-play) and Dusty Dvoracek were commenting on Georgia doing defensive lineman reps during the game.

Tough Times in Fayetteville

We had to do a double take when we saw the Dawgs come out before the start of the game. Arkansas has a proud fan base, but as we wrote about earlier this week, the program is in trouble. The stadium looked sparse and matched the relatively uninspiring images that were circulating on social media a couple of hours before the game. Hunter Yurachek might be in trouble; that will make Ryan Silverfield’s rebuild all the harder.

The Last Word

Georgia continues SEC play next week, Between the Hedges. John Mateer and Oklahoma come to town for a 3:30 pm kick on ABC. This will be just the second ever meeting between the two schools. The first meeting was the epic slugfest in Rose Bowl back in 2017 that saw the Dawgs knock off the Sooners in overtime to punch their ticket to the national championship game.
