The Georgia Bulldogs are headed into the regular season before fans know it, but while the summer heat is still around, Kirby Smart and this coaching staff are still very much in recruiting mode.

For the most part, the class of 2027 has not been kind to Georgia based on its own standards, and while a top-ten class may be out of the question at this point barring something surprising, there are still targets all over the board. The Bulldogs are pushing hard for a few different players, and one of them is set to commit this weekend.

In a battle that has now been going on for months, the Dawgs are trying to land South Carolina defensive lineman Seth Tillman over the Clemson Tigers ahead of his commitment on Saturday. Though the Tigers are the favorite, Tillman clearly loves Georgia as well.

Tillman Shows Love to Bulldogs Ahead of Commitment

"Coach Tray Scott did an awesome job of recruiting me. Also very consistent. I know they will be able to develop me," Tillman told 247Sports. "I reached my decision based on the school being good to be over my whole recruitment process…This school has been straightforward with me the whole time."

By the sounds of it, Tillman has made his choice already and if it's not Georgia, there may not be much Smart could do to change that. Trying to take a player from Rock Hill away from his home state at a position where Clemson has such a reputation of developing talent was never going to be easy.

If the Tigers are the clear favorite though, the Dawgs are firmly in second place ahead of both South Carolina and Michigan, providing a glimmer of hope that ultimately Athens could still be his final destination.

What Kind of Skillset Tillman Would Bring Georgia

Tillman has some impressive size at right under 300 pounds and standing at 6-foot-2, potentially becoming a future starting nose who specializes in making it a problem for opposing teams to run the football up the middle.

An impressive athlete who also plays basketball, he helped lead his South Pointe program to a 4A South Carolina state championship by anchoring the defensive line and racking up 61 tackles (27 for loss), 12 quarterback hits and 8.5 sacks in 13 games, something he now hopes to do at the next level as well.

At the end of the day, Tillman is a premiere defensive line prospect who looks like he could be a legitimate stud at whichever program he winds up joining. It would be a bit of a surprise if that program is Georgia, but crazier things have happened before.
