Homecoming, revenge games highlight Week 7 of high school football

The homecoming celebrations continue into Week 7 of the Bay County high school football season. The game week begins Thursday as Rutherford hosts Freeport. This season, the News Herald will provide previews highlighting potential playmakers and game changers to watch as we continue through the 2026 season.

Here are your Week 7 Bay County high school football matchups:

Bay High (5-1) at Madison County (3-3)

Matchup history: Madison County leads (2-0)

Latest matchup: Madison County won 41-35 (2025)

The last time these two met it was a thriller with the Cowboys making a fourth quarter comeback. Now in 2026 these two teams are headed in different directions. Madison County have dropped its past two games but are just as dangerous as seasons before.

Cowboys quarterback Chad Mitchell has thrown for 686 yards, six touchdowns and eight interceptions. Mitchell has ran for 104 yards and three scores. Running back Kemonte Lee leads the team with 176 yards rushing and two scores, he also has 186 receiving yards and two scores. Wide receiver Michael Pride has 315 yards receiving and four touchdowns.

On defense linebacker Isaiah Sparrow leads the team with 54 tackles and four sacks. Defensive back Siyah Hall has a team high three interceptions.

Bay High is amid a five game winning streak with the stellar play of quarterback Mace Grant. The sophomore has thrown for 1,191 yards and 11 touchdowns while rushing for 299 yards and three scores.

Running back Jamarlin Huntley has rushed for 692 yards and seven touchdowns. Wide receiver Kaden Brown leads the team with 22 receptions for 300 yards and two touchdowns. Receivers De'Jay Davenport, Noah Clement and Darryl Andrews round out the receiving corps.

Defensive back Khamani Polk has 46 tackles, two sacks and two interceptions. Defensive end Hayden Garrette is tied with Pol and Jacorey Weaver for the team lead with two sacks. Brown is tied in interceptions (4) with De'Jay Davenport and Andrews has two.

Bozeman (1-4) vs. Rocky Bayou Christian (0-5)

Matchup history: Bozeman leads (3-0)

Latest matchup: Bozeman won 42-14 (2016)

Bozeman will be in a celabratory mood this week as they welcoming in the winless Knights for homecoming. Rocky Bayou Christian quarterback Matix Vilagomez has thrown for 068 yards, tow touchdowns and seven interceptions. He has ran for 159 yards and three scores. Running back Isaiah Gayle has 359 rushing yards and three touchdowns and leads the team with 25 receptions for 287 yards and two scores.

Defensiely Gayle and defensive lineman Eldis Continanza leads the team with 23 tackles each. Defensive end Braden Hough leads th eteam with three sacks. Defensive backs Audie Morris and Landon Summers have an interception each.

For Bozeman quarterback Hayden Gay has thrown for 528 yards, seven touchdowns and three interceptions, along with the teams only rushing score. Running back Blake Durham has rushed for 116 yards. Wide receiver Evan Clements leads the team with 14 receptions for 203 yards and three touchdowns. Receiver Caleb Hentz has 18 receptions for 192 yards and three scores.

Bozeman's defense is led by Liam Flaherty with 24 tackles and defensive back Rylee McNeil with 19. Clements, Hentz and Parker Roberts each have an interception and linebacker Isaac Parish has a sack.

Rutherford (1-4) vs Freeport (3-2)

Matchup history: First regular season meeting

The two teams actually faced off last season in a Kickoff Classic matchup that ended in a 34-30 Freeport victory. A year later and Rutherford is looking to end it;s two game losing streak and secure a homecoming victory over the Bulldogs.

Rutherford is led offensively by quarterback Jaleel Reed, who has accounted for 990 yards and eight total touchdowns. Running back Jamarion Blount has rushed for 583 yards and five touchdowns. Kalaiah Baker leads the team with 15 catches for 205 receiving yards and a score, while receiver Jerrick Mackall has 10 catches for 81 yards and a score.

Defensively, the Rams are led by Blount with 46 tackles, Juiquin Aytch with 26, Tristan Lafrance-Williams with 25 and Jordan Brown with 24. Defensive backs Aklian Patterson and Zay Holmes have two interceptions along with Kayden Frank with one interception.

Freeport's offense is led by the runnning game and running back Dylan Louthain. The senior has rushed for 644 yards and 12 touchdowns. Quarterback Carter Nunes has thrown for three touchdowns and two interceptions. Wide reciver Talen McElyea leads the team with 13 receptions for 126 yards and a touchdown and reciver Anthony Guard has nine receptions for 178 yards and a score.

Defensively linebacker Ayden Williams leasds the team with 47 tackles followed by strong safety Ryland Willig with 25. Defensive back Boston Love has the tems only interception.

Arnold (1-4) at Blountstown (4-1)

Matchup history: Blountstown leads (2-0)

Latest matchup: Blountstown won 58-22 (2025)

Arnold is amid a four game skid and the schedule does not get any easier with a Blountstown team which is rolling.

Blountstown's offense is led by Troy commit and running back Kayin Martin, who has rushed for 450 yards and six touchdowns. UConn commit Curt Ellis has 315 rushing yards and four scores. Ellis has 193 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Florida commit Cyion Smith has three touchdown receptions. Quarterback Brad Waggoner Jr. has thrown for 506 yards, mine touchdowns and five interceptions.

Blountstown's defense is led by Smith. Defensive back Aaden Williams with 35 tackles and Omarion Dawson with 32 tackles. Linebacker Jordan Baker leads the team with 3.5 sacks. Christian Martin leads the team with two interceptions.

For the Marlins quarterback River Walding has thrown for 566 yards, six touchdowns and two interceptions. The junior also has 113 rushing yards and a score. Running back Walter McDermott has rushed for 155 yards.

Wide receiver Xzavier Morris leads the receivers with 11 receptions for 205 yards and a touchdown. Linebacker Elijah Alhassan leads the defense with 43 tackles, followed by linebacker Marshall Skaggs with 40 tackles. Edge rusher Jack Mixon has a team-best three sacks on the year. Defensive back Nathan Neely has an interception and three pass deflections.
