BLOOMINGTON — With five teams losing in the top seven, Indiana football's ranking in the national polls didn't take much of a hit after a 19-15 loss to Ohio State.
It also helped that voters in the US LBM Coaches Poll showed love to the Buckeyes by moving them up to No. 2 in the country with 13 first-place votes.
The Hoosiers (6-1, 3-1 Big Ten) dropped in both polls — two spots in the coaches and one spot in the AP Poll — to No. 6 in the country. They didn't receive any first place votes in either poll for the first time this season.
Miami is the new No. 1 in both polls. In the coaches poll, the top five includes OSU along with No. 3 BYU, No. 4 Georgia and No. 5 Texas Tech. The top five in the AP Poll included the same teams, but in a different order with Miami followed by No. 2 BYU, No. 3 Ohio State, No. 4 Notre Dame and No. 5 Georgia.
The Big Ten has seven teams ranked in the top 25 of the coaches poll.
