The Georgia Bulldogs are headed into their second SEC game against the Oklahoma Sooners following no real tests over the first three weeks of the season.

Beating their opponents by a combined 138 points, not even the SEC opener on the road against the Arkansas Razorbacks presented any kind of real test, winning by four touchdowns and again pulling starters before the end of the game. The Sooners come into Athens majorly struggling on the offensive side of the ball, but still with a tremendous defense which could present major issues for the Georgia offense.

If Oklahoma is going to have a chance in this game, the defense is going to have to set the tone. Creating an early turnover which either puts the offense in the red zone or even gets points on the board early on would be exactly what Brent Venables' team needs out of the gate to be able to compete.

Oklahoma Needs Enough from Offense

It's probably unlikely that John Mateer is going to come into Sanford Stadium and suddenly be seeing the field well against a tough Georgia defense, so Oklahoma will have to run the ball with a whole lot more success than they have over the last two years.

While Mateer has worn the brunt of the criticism, the Sooners have had one of the worst running games in the nation and it has been especially ineffective so far this year. With starting left tackle Michael Fasusi out for Oklahoma, it's an even bigger challenge for them to be able to run the ball as well as protect Mateer.

Venables has had a tendency to pull games out of his hat since taking over in Norman though, and this would certainly be a magic trick to leave Georgia with a victory, but it is certainly not impossible.

A creative offensive game plan which uses Mateer's legs to get the Sooners to at least 20 points and complimented by a defensive masterclass is the recipe for Oklahoma to come into Athens and steal one.

Whether or not that is actually at all realistic remains to be seen, but at the end of the day, this is a Sooners team that has a lot of talent still and on the right day is absolutely capable of winning this football game.

It's up to Kirby Smart and his football team to prevent any chance from things going down that way.
