The Hurricanes’ home win over Notre Dame was one of the biggest games of the 2025 season. Because UM beat the Fighting Irish, Miami went to the College Football Playoff while Notre Dame was left out, ultimately refusing its bowl bid.

This year’s game is set up to be just as crucial.

The Hurricanes will face the Fighting Irish in South Bend, Indiana, at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 7, NBC announced on Thursday.

The rematch pairs two of the teams expected to be among the nation’s best. Miami returns stars like Mark Fletcher Jr. and Malach Toney and added standout quarterback Darian Mensah and key defensive end Damon Wilson II. Notre Dame returns star quarterback C.J. Carr, who made his starting debut vs. UM last year, and top cornerback Leonard Moore.

Both teams will be missing some of the stars who played in last year’s close contest. Star Hurricanes defensive ends Rueben Bain Jr. and Akheem Mesidor were first-round picks in this year’s NFL draft, as were Fighting Irish running backs Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price.

November’s game will be the 28th matchup between the two programs. The Hurricanes are 9-17-1 all-time against the Fighting Irish but have won the last two games the teams have played. Notre Dame is 9-1 against Miami in South Bend. The Hurricanes’ only road win against the Fighting Irish was in 1984.
