‘I Don’t Like Texas… They’re Gonna Have to Pay’ — Texas A&M QB Marcel Reed Sends Warning to Arch Manning’s Longhorns

Texas A&M does not play Texas until the day after Thanksgiving. Marcel Reed apparently sees no reason to wait nearly three months to begin rivalry week.
The Aggies quarterback already has Nov. 27 circled after losing both of his starts against the Longhorns. In a new interview, Reed made it clear that Texas coming back to Kyle Field has made the 2026 rematch personal.
Reed Makes His Feelings About Texas Clear
“We don’t like Texas. I don’t like Texas,” Reed told USA TODAY Sports columnist Blake Toppmeyer in the full interview.
“It sucks that we’ve lost to them twice. But, they’re coming here this year, so they’re gonna have to pay. I’ve got something for them, for sure.”
The confidence comes with some unfinished business.

Texas beat Texas A&M 17-7 at Kyle Field in 2024 when the rivalry returned after a 13-year hiatus. The Longhorns followed that by winning 27-17 in Austin last November, spoiling an 11-0 A&M start and keeping the Aggies out of the SEC Championship Game.
Reed threw two interceptions in the 2025 loss, then threw two more in a 10-3 College Football Playoff defeat to Miami. He told Toppmeyer that eliminating those negative plays has been his biggest offseason focus.
PFN still sees plenty to like. Reed enters 2026 ranked No. 10 in PFN’s QB Rankings after receiving an 83.6 QB+ grade for 2025, with his passing, rushing, and clutch ability all grading as strengths.
Arch Manning, Texas Get the Return Trip to Kyle Field
There is a reason Reed’s warning will travel.
Texas has won both meetings since joining Texas A&M in the SEC and three straight in the series overall. The Longhorns finished 10-3 last year, while Arch Manning threw for 3,163 yards and helped Texas recover from a rocky start to win the Citrus Bowl.
The Aggies went 11-2, made their first College Football Playoff appearance and finished No. 8 in the AP poll. Their final 2025Defense Impact grade was 88.7, No. 6 nationally, giving Reed a roster capable of making his November promise more than offseason trash talk.
The rematch is scheduled for Nov. 27 at 6:30 p.m. CT on ABC from Kyle Field. It will be the 121st meeting between the programs, with Texas holding a 78-37-5 advantage.

That is a lot of history for one quarterback to threaten revenge against before September has even really started.
Reed does not seem particularly interested in easing into it. Texas beat him twice. This time, in his words, the Longhorns “are gonna have to pay.”
