Indiana Announces Exciting Fernando Mendoza News

Fernando Mendoza is playing his first season with the Indiana Hoosiers after transferring from the California Golden Bears.
Under head coach Curt Cignetti, Mendoza is looking to guide Indiana to its second straight College Football Playoff appearance and bring home a national championship.
Mendoza has led Indiana on a perfect season, sitting at 10-0 with games remaining against the Wisconsin Badgers and the Purdue Boilermakers.
He continues to earn national recognition, and the Hoosiers recently announced that Mendoza was named a semifinalist for the Walter Camp Award.

The award is presented to the most outstanding player in college football. The last three winners have been Colorado Buffaloes wide receiver and cornerback Travis Hunter, LSU Tigers quarterback Jayden Daniels and USC Trojans quarterback Caleb Williams. Those were the Heisman Trophy winners in those years as well.
Mendoza, one of 20 semifinalists, doesn’t come as a major surprise. In 10 games, he’s completed 181 of 254 passes for 2,342 yards, 26 touchdowns, five interceptions and a 178.5 passer rating. He’s also rushed for 240 yards and five touchdowns.
Other recognizable players joining Mendoza include Ole Miss Rebels quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, Notre Dame Fighting Irish running back Jeremiyah Love, Oregon Ducks quarterback Dante Moore and Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Ty Simpson.
In the latest College Football Playoff rankings, Indiana was given the No. 2 spot behind the No. 1 Ohio State Buckeyes.
The Hoosiers and Mendoza will look to keep building on this impressive season with a Week 12 matchup against Wisconsin at noon ET Saturday on the Big Ten Network.
