The Big Ten has earned the right to claim it is the best conference in college football. Many people who advocate for the SEC will put their conference ahead of the Big Ten. They don't have an argument. Indiana Hoosiers head football coach Curt Cignetti made sure to put his own personal stamp on the conversation.

In a recent tweet, ON3 highlighted Curt Cignetti's strong thoughts on the Big Ten in comparison to other conferences at Big Ten media days. Here is what he had to say:

"We don’t run a hype machine up here in the Midwest. We believe everything is earned, not given. When we fall short, we say we fell short. We don't cry a river and whine and complain. All right, and that's why we're the best."

Curt Cignetti and the Hoosiers earned every right to have a strong statement such as that after last season, dominating the Big Ten and then going on to win the national title game. Curt Cignetti has always spoken exactly how he feels, but the Big Ten's and his program's recent success backs up his strong feelings. The Indiana Hoosiers, since Curt Cignetti has taken over, have prioritized what matters most with his program, and that is why the Hoosiers have been a top team in college football during that era. It is time for Lincoln Riley and the USC Trojans to showcase those same traits.
