The LSU Tigers threw us all a curveball early in the week when quarterback Sam Leavitt was listed as doubtful on the team’s initial injury report.
It was surprising, to say the least, as it wasn’t known that Leavitt was dealing with an injury before getting the doubtful tag on Wednesday.
“A shocker on the SEC injury report, with LSU starting quarterback Sam Leavitt listed as doubtful,” ESPN’s Pete Thamel wrote.
However, fears about his status were put to bed on Friday when the final injury report of the week was revealed.

Is Sam Leavitt playing tonight?
Yes, Leavitt is good to go for Saturday night against Ole Miss, as he has been completely removed from the injury report after the early-week scare.
Leavitt was upgraded from doubtful on Wednesday to questionable on Thursday before being fully cleared on Friday.
What we don’t know is if Leavitt’s appearance on the injury report was legit.
Was Sam Leavitt really injured?
Perhaps Leavitt was actually dealing with some kind of injury.
But the general belief out there, as ESPN’s Pete Thamel noted, is that this was just a little gamesmanship from head coach Lane Kiffin ahead of the matchup against his old team.
“No one on the Ole Miss staff is convinced LSU QB Sam Leavitt’s appearance as ‘doubtful’ on the injury report is sincere and he’ll miss the game on Saturday, per sources,” Thamel reported on Thursday.

Knowing Kiffin, nobody would be surprised if that’s the case.
