It’s a massive game for both teams, especially LSU, considering all of the drama it’s been going through. On Thursday, Judge William Jorden granted an injunction against the NCAA, which paves the way for more than 40 athletes to be eligible to play this season, including prospective LSU players in tight end Dae’Quan Wright and defensive lineman Zxavian Harris.
LSU’s 105-man roster is due on Friday, and Kiffin has to decide whether to include both players. The controversy continues because the SEC is expected to appeal Thursday’s decision. Heck, the SEC is also suing Kiffin and LSU over attempts to add former professional players to their rosters.
All of this makes Saturday feel like a must-win for LSU. Imagine the noise that will come out of Baton Rouge and the rest of the country if LSU loses this game. Fans and media members will likely go berserk.
However, if LSU wins, some of the pressure would go away as the school waits to find out what happens with a potential appeal and a lawsuit.
Let’s see what happens over the next 36-plus hours.
