Kandi Burruss says Todd Tucker tried to pitch his ‘Til Divorce Do Us Part’ series ‘multiple times’

Kandi Burruss is addressing the recent online discussion regarding Todd Tucker’s “Til Divorce Do Us Part” and her one-woman show, and outlining the difference between Burruss telling her truth and Tucker utilizing the divorce for content and public consumption.
The multi-hyphenate was a guest on Audi Cornish and Ari Shaprio’s “Engagement Party” podcast for CNN. While Cornish admitted she was a fan of “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” she wasn’t a fan of the men being spotlighted on the show and she felt the series should always focus on the women.
“Not to be a hater, but I really don’t want to see the men. One of the things I loved about ‘Real Housewives,’ it was centering the story of women,” Cornish said. “Many over the age of 40. And I didn’t really want to know about the dudes on the side.”
That sentiment wasn’t lost on Burruss, who learned that Tucker had shared another trailer to the series just before her interview with Cornish began.
“He’s tried to pitch this show multiple times,” Burruss revealed. “They did not choose to do it because I think a lot of people feel the way you do.”
In Tucker’s series, several “RHOA” alums appear, including Apollo Nida, Peter Thomas, Ralph Pittman Jr., and Dennis McKinley, all with the intention of opening a sports bar. Tucker explains what he feels went wrong in his marriage to the men, and in a recent clip, he revealed to Thomas that he and Burruss engaged in several threesomes during their marriage.
Many feel Burruss was doing something similar with her one-woman show as Tucker is with his series. However, Burruss shared that her intention in telling her story was for intimate audiences, rather than a mass release where everyone could have an opinion.
“I think the answer or the reply to it is, ‘Oh, she did her own one-woman show,’” she said. “But what people don’t realize about the one-woman show is, we took people’s phones. I purposely did it in intimate crowds. You would have to know somebody that went or who was there to be a part of it.”
What was once supposed to be private between Burruss and Tucker became public in the fallout from their divorce. The couple finalized their split in March, and in a previous interview, Burruss said Tucker was “sensationalizing” their sex life to “stretch five minutes of fame.”
