Kansas State Wildcats Land Commitment From Top In-State 2028 Prospect

Kansas State Wildcats coach Collin Klein is still getting acclimated to his new yet old surroundings in his first year in charge. 

But that hasn't prevented him from focusing on the future as well. In his first season, Klein has hit the recruiting trail hard the past nine months. The latest example of his work paying  off was the recent commitment of recruit Taylen Washington. He announced the decision earlier this week on social media. 

Washington is a standout linebacker/athlete at Derby High School. He is a member of the 2028 recruiting class. The 6-foot-3, 208-pound Washington is the first commitment of the class. 

Here are the other recent players the program has offered:

Robert Brown, defensive lineman

The 6-foot-3, 290-pound Brown, out of Effingham County High School in Springfield, Ga., isn't rated yet by any scouting services but is only a member of the 2028 recruiting class. 

He already has offers from the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Arkansas Razorbacks, Florida State Seminoles and Georgia Bulldogs. 

Dailon Denkins, Cornerback

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Denkins is a standout at Fort Bend (Texas) High School. He is rated a four-star recruit by 247 Sports.

Julian Dwyer, Defensive End 

Dwyer plays at Cincinnati Moeller High School, one of the top programs in the nation. He is a three-star recruit with offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Illinois and Indiana. He is rated as the 16th-best in the state of Ohio according to 247 Sports. 

Jekai Lee, Defensive End

 Lee is a prospect from Butler Community College. Lee is 6-foot-6 and 280 pounds. He also has offers from Florida International, Georgia State, Southern Mississippi and University of Texas-San Antonio.

Brady Reeves, Tight End

Kansas State extended another offer to a tight end prospect, this time three-star Brady Reeves. He currently attends Hill-Murray High School in Maplewood, MN. Reeves also received offers from Vanderbilt, Iowa State, and Miami (OH). He's ranked right outside the top 20 at his position on 247Sports. Last season, Reeves had 25 receptions for 327 yards and nine touchdowns.

Sloan Blackwell, Tight End

The program offered tight end Sloan Blackwell on Tuesday night. He currently attends Waco Midway High School in Waco, TX. Blackwell also received offers from Arizona, Syracuse, and Arizona State. Last season, he had 18 receptions for 254 yards and two touchdowns, per MaxPreps.

Jerry Richmond, Offensive Lineman

The latest offensive lineman to be offered in the class was Jerry Richmond. He currently attends East St. Louis High School in East St. Louis, IL. Richmond has also received offers from Florida Atlantic, North Carolina, and South Dakota.

Asher Megonnell, Offensive Tackle

Kansas State offered offensive tackle Asher Megonnell on Friday. He currently attends Ankeny Centennial High School in Ankeny, IA. He also received an offer from Big 12 rival Iowa State. Megonnell is currently unranked.
