Kansas State's Collin Klein Breaks Down What He's Seen From QB Avery Johnson

So far, Kansas State Wildcats first-year coach Collin Klein has been on the job for almost nine months.
He's dealt with all the adjustments of being in a new role. A lot has changed since his days of being an assistant with the Wildcats and the offensive coordinator for the Texas A & M Aggies.
The one constant in the past few years is what he's seen from K-State quarterback Avery Johnson. He said he hasn't seen much change in Johnson, which is a good thing.
Klein met with the media earlier this week to talk about what has gone on during training camp.
Here's what he had to say about Johnson so far this preseason: "I can't really say a whole lot of, really, anything negative like that about something that he needs to work on. Yeah, there's schemes we're working on and throws we're working on and defensive recognition things, sure. But I've been very, very pleased with his mindset, his approach. It's been fun to watch the work that he and every one of our skill guys across the board have put in through the course of the offseason."
This is such an important year for Johnson. It is his third season as the full-time starter but it seems like he has something to prove. After a solid year as a sophomore starter, he took somewhat of a step back during his junior year.
The Wildcats struggled and finished a disappointing 6-6 last year. It resulted in them being so disappointed they declined a bowl berth. It didn't help matters that former coach Chris Klieman resigned despite being one of the most successful coaches in school history.
Johnson has so much motivation entering this season. The good news is he has a coach who already believes in him to bring success to the program.
MEET AND GREET SET
This is perhaps the most anticipated football season for the Kansas State Wildcats in recent years.
It marks the first year of the coach Collin Klein era. He replaced the successful Chris Klieman, who resigned unexpectedly following last year's 6-6 finish. A former Wildcats star, Klein has hopes of making them once again a contender in the Big 12 conference.
And fans can have their chance to meet Klein and the players Aug. 22 at the annual "Meet the Cats" event at Bill Snyder Family Stadium. Gates open at 11 a.m.
