USC has high aspirations for the 2026 season. As the team prepared for the new season, there has been plenty of talk around USC quarterback Jayden Maiava and the new receivers for the Trojans.

If USC is going to make a run to the playoffs, then they need the running game to thrive as well. If fall camp is any indication of how the running back room looks, USC is set for a great year, according to Pete Nakos of On3.

Waymond Jordan leads the way. He was solid last year, running for 576 yards and five touchdowns. He also had two games of rushing for over 150 yards, but he played in just six games before needing season-ending surgery. Jordan needed tightrope surgery in October and is back to full health. According to those at camp, he “looks like he did last year.”

King Miller is also back this year. Miller ran for 972 yards and eight scores last season. He took over as the primary back in that game against Michigan, where Jordan went out. Miller ran for 158 yards and a touchdown in that game. He would go on to have four more games running for 120 or more yards with at least one touchdown. He also ran for 99 yards and a touchdown in the Valero Alamo Bowl.

“King Miller is about to show everyone like, ‘I ran for 900 yards, and no one is talking about me,’” a source said.

USC comes into the season as a top 20 team. The Trojans open their season on August 29 against San Jose State.
