More than a year after leaving the Fiji villa together, the Season 7 runners-up have ended their relationship but reportedly remain close friends.
Olandria Carthen and Nic Vansteenberghe have broken up over a year after the “Love Island USA” fan favorites left the Fiji villa and continued their relationship away from the cameras.
Olandria and Nic have decided to end their relationship, People reported. A source said distance and busy schedules made it challenging to maintain their connection, but added that they remain close friends and will continue supporting one another.
The pair met during Season 7 of the Peacock dating series. Their connection developed during a Casa Amor twist that gave both contestants another opportunity to find a match. Carthen initially resisted acting on their chemistry because Vansteenberghe had been coupled with Cierra Ortega earlier in the season.
After Ortega was removed from the villa, Carthen and Vansteenberghe recoupled and finished the season as runners-up. Fans combined their names into “Nicolandria,” turning them into a fan-favorite pairing.
They made the relationship official after filming but later shared less of it online. In December, the couple spoke about the pressure of sharing their relationship with an audience that expected updates. Carthen said commentary became mentally draining, while Vansteenberghe described the challenge of balancing their private lives with social media work.
The Love Island split follows months of public interest in whether the couple was still together. Carthen said in June that attention surrounding their relationship sometimes made her uncomfortable and questioned why strangers needed regular proof that she and Vansteenberghe were spending time together.
Outside the relationship, Carthen has continued building a post-show career through major brand partnerships and a New York Fashion Week runway appearance with Sergio Hudson, while expressing interest in more speaking engagements.
