LSU football recruiting heater continues with three-star cornerback

The recruiting heater continues for LSU football. On Monday, three-star cornerback Markez Davis committed to LSU, joining five-star defensive end KJ Green and three-star running back Brennen Lacey to make it three commitments in less than 24 hours for Lane Kiffin and staff.
Davis is the seventh commit of the 2027 class for LSU. He's the first cornerback to join the fold. The Louisiana native is ranked No. 966 overall by the Rivals Industry Rankings.247Sports is the highest on Davis, slotting him as the No. 28 corner in the class and No. 15 prospect in Louisiana. Davis chose LSU over offers from Houston, Texas Tech, and West Virginia.
LSU's 2027 class ranks No. 24 in the country per Rivals. The group is headlined by five-star tight end Ahmad Hudson, along with Green and blue-chip quarterback Payton Houston.

As we move along in the summer, the 2027 recruiting classes will begin to take shape. Most top prospects prefer to commit before their senior year of high school so they can be ready when early signing day rolls around in December. The next month or so could be big for the Tigers.
