Lane Kiffin and LSU took the loss on the road to Ole Miss this past week. While the game is in the rearview mirror, Kiffin keeps talking about the contest.

In his latest comments, Kiffin took issue with the SEC schedule while talking about the game against Ole Miss, according to Thomas Goldkamp of On3.

“Obviously we just played the best one in the country last week thinking he can hurt you even when you have the right call on and everybody covered and a guy comes free,” Kiffin said, speaking of Chambliss. “Obviously he played great a year ago here in the stadium, so this is one of those scheduling quirks just like last week where never in that LSU-Ole Miss series had it ever been played two times in a row.”

LSU visited Ole Miss in Week 5 of 2025, and then again this year in Week 3. Meanwhile, they hosted Texas A&M at the end of October and will host the Aggies again this week.

“That (Ole Miss) game was supposed to be here, and this one was supposed to be (at Texas A&M),” Kiffin said. ” So these are the scheduling quirks that come with our awesome move to nine games that has sure looked so great here lately.”

The SEC moved to a nine-game schedule in 2026. Each school plays three annual opponents and then six rotating opponents, which means every team in the SEC will face at least once in a two-year period. For LSU, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, and Arkansas are all on the schedule each year.

LSU hosts Texas A&M on Saturday at 7:30 pm ET.
