LSU and Lane Kiffin will face a challenging 2026 schedule, with the Tigers opening the season at home against Clemson before hosting Louisiana Tech and then having to travel to what will be a very hostile environment at Ole Miss. The SEC slate gets tougher with Texas A&M coming to Tiger Stadium, followed by road games at both Kentucky and Auburn. LSU will get a much-needed bye before a brutal November stretch that includes home games against Alabama and Texas, followed by road trips to Tennessee and Arkansas. With several ranked opponents and very little room for error, the LSU’s schedule makes the 8.5 win total from FanDuel a particularly interesting number.

Let’s take a quick look at each team and where the Tigers are facing them this season:

  • LSU vs. Clemson: The season opener and one of LSU’s biggest tests comes early. Playing at home in Tiger Stadium helps, but Clemson has enough talent to make this a toss-up.
  • LSU vs. Louisiana Tech: LSU should be heavily favored in this one due to their major talent advantage. This should be a comfortable win.
  • LSU at Ole Miss: A tough early road game and Lane Kiffin’s return to Oxford. This will be a hostile environment but a huge statement game for the Tigers to come home with the win.
  • LSU vs. Texas A&M: Another strong SEC opponent, but fortunately, LSU gets them at home. This is a game the Tigers should have a good chance to win.
  • LSU vs. McNeese: The Tigers should dominate this one from start to finish. This is essentially a guaranteed win barring a massive upset.
  • LSU at Kentucky: A road SEC game that the Tigers should win, but playing away from Baton Rouge makes it slightly more dangerous.
  • LSU vs. Mississippi State: Another very winnable home game. The Tigers should have the talent advantage on both sides of the ball.
  • LSU at Auburn: This is one of the more difficult road games. Auburn could wind up making this a close game, making it a key swing matchup.

  • LSU vs. Alabama: A huge home matchup against one of their biggest rivals fortunately, playing in Tiger Stadium gives LSU the advantage, but Alabama is still a major challenge.
  • LSU vs. Texas: Another heavyweight at home for the Tigers. LSU again gets the home-field advantage, but this could easily be one of the toughest games on the schedule.
  • LSU at Tennessee: Playing in Neyland Stadium makes this a difficult road test. This one is also a toss-up.
  • LSU at Arkansas: The Battle for the Boot finds LSU closing the regular season on the road. Arkansas is beatable, but ending the season away from home adds some risk. However, the Tigers will be fighting hard to keep that trophy in Baton Rouge for the 5th year in a row.

LSU’s 2026 schedule will be a major test, but they have enough talent and home-field advantages to get there. If the Tigers can take care of the games they are expected to win and steal a few victories against ranked opponents, at least 9 wins becomes a realistic outcome. Ultimately, LSU’s success will come down to how well the team handles its toughest stretch and whether it can avoid costly losses along the way.
