Micah's 5 expectations for USC versus Nebraska

The USC Trojans have a big opportunity to remain the fourth-best team in the Big Ten with a win over the frisky 6-2 Nebraska Cornhuskers. With a loss, things could get more complicated in the Big Ten, and things will get more complicated for the outlook on Lincoln Riley’s future. Lincoln Riley and the Trojans can not afford a loss. With a win, USC’s hopes for a playoff bid continue on, but it will take a couple of factors going the Trojans’ way.
Here are my Week 10 bold predictions for the USC Trojans:
Jayden Maiava severely outplays Dylan Raiola
Dylan Raiola, while he is talented, is very prone to making many costly mistakes during the game. Maiava has recently had mistakes, but for the majority of the season, he has been lights out. Maiava will get back to playing elite Saturday and put on one of his best performances of the season. He will throw for 300 yards passing and 4 touchdowns. While Raiola will struggle and throw two game-changing picks. If USC’s offense plays to the level they can play, it should be a game similar to the Michigan win.
Ja’Kobi Lane will have another big game
Lane had one of his biggest games against Notre Dame. The Trojans needed a playmaker due to Makai Lemon getting taken out of the game, and Ja’Kobi Lane stepped up big time. He has had an underperforming season, but the Notre Dame game could be the one to jump-start a great finish. USC’s offense is prolific, and Lane could be the playmaker Maiava looks to early to get the offense moving. I believe Lane will reach the 100 yard mark against the Cornhuskers.
King Miller sparks the dead Trojans run game
The last game for the Trojans, Notre Dame was the more physical team, and King Miller had to scratch and claw to get 70 yards on the ground. In comparison, Notre Dame ran for 306 total yards. Notre Dame won that game, and it is evident for the Trojans to win; they need their run game to be effective. Against Michigan, the Trojans had their way and won comfortably due to King Miller’s dominant performance. King Miller had 158 yards, 1 rushing touchdown, all on 8.8 yards per carry. The Trojans need a win this week, and King Miller will have to show up this week. I think Miller will be one of the most dominant performers in this game with a performance similar to his Michigan game.
Trojans get 5 sacks in this game
In their two losses this season, Dylan Raiola was sacked a ton. Against Minnesota, Raiola got sacked 9 times, and against Michigan, he touched the ground 7 times. This Nebraska offensive line is very getable and known to put their quarterback in harm’s way. The Trojans were at one point the best at getting after the quarterback in the country. This is a game the defensive line needs to show up. This is a unit that can get at least 5 sacks on this opposing offensive line.
Take the over this game will be a high scoring one
Nebraska is due for a big offensive performance every game. Emmett Johnson is a top back in the backfield. He will be sure for a dominant game. Nebraska is scoring 35 points per game this season, and Dylan Raiola is no stranger to a 3 passing touchdown performance. The Trojans, on the other hand, are averaging 42 points per game and are putting up 530 yards of total offense every game. Both offenses are more than likely to put up big numbers. This game will be a high-scoring shootout. I still believe the Trojans will prevail and win by two possessions in the 4th.
