MSU football working to flip Big 12 commit, 3-star Ohio OT prospect

Michigan State football is working to flip an Ohio prospect currently committed to a Big 12 school.

Zay'vion Smith of Warren, Ohio has recently picked up an offer from Michigan State, according to Allen Trieu of On3. Smith is committed to Cincinnati, with the Bearcats picking up his commitment in early April.

Smith is listed as a three-star prospect, with a recruiting rating of 86 in 247Sports' composite system. He ranks as the No. 84 offensive tackle and No. 41 player from Ohio in the 2027 class.

Michigan State is one of a few schools to recently offer Smith, including Pitt and Arizona as well. According to 247Sports, he is now up to nearly 20 offers, including the likes of Cincinnati, Iowa State, Marshall, Akron, Army, Eastern Michigan, Middle Tennessee State, Navy, UConn and Ohio.
