The 27th edition of the bowl in 2025 saw in-state favorite Tennessee take on Illinois. The Vols fell 30-28 on a walk-off field goal in front of a crowd of over 52,000, making it the third most attended non-College Football Playoff bowl last season.
Almost 5.4 million viewers tuned in to see the action, fifth most among non-CFP bowl games and the highest TV ratings for the bowl since 2021.
