The Georgia Bulldogs hosted plenty of elite recruits for their season opener against the Tennessee State Tigers. Among those braving the heat in Georgia's 63-3 victory was four-star running back recruit Kevin Hartsfield.

The 6-foot, 210-pound running back is ranked as the No. 1 player at his position in the class of 2028. Hartsfield is a junior at Newton High School in Covington, Georgia.

Former Georgia cornerback Eric Stokes is also from Covington. Stokes was a first-round pick in the 2021 NFL draft and now plays for the Las Vegas Raiders.

Hartsfield is ranked as the No. 35 recruit in the nation, per 247Sports. The Newton star is the fifth-ranked player in Georgia.

The elite running back recruit has recent scholarship offers from Texas Tech, UCF, Oklahoma, Kansas, NC State and more. Hartsfield has excellent strength and can hang clean 345 pounds.

Georgia already has a commitment from five-star running back Kemon Spell in the 2027 recruiting cycle. Could Georgia make it back-to-back classes with the No. 1 running back?

Georgia also hosted Virginia Tech cornerback commitment Chase Johnson for the Tennessee State game. Georgia is desperately looking to land a commitment from a cornerback in the class of 2027. The Bulldogs currently have no 2027 cornerback commitments.
