Nebraska running back Jamal Rule reflects on big day following win

Nebraska football freshman running back Jamal Rule had quite the productive day on Saturday against the Ohio Bobcats. He met with the media following the game and talked about the emotions during it.

The running back carried the ball 15 times for 122 yards and two touchdowns. He averaged 8.1 yards per carry, including a 39-yard run that was the longest of the day.

He contributed to a Huskers rushing attack that accumulated 248 yards on the ground. It was quite the day for the running back, who also caught a touchdown in the process.

The emotions were understandably high for the running back, who talked about his debut.

“It's nice to see y'all again. I always keep saying this, it was a long time dream come true. It was even better than I was expecting. Just walking out onto the field and seeing all of the fans, I teared up a little bit because I was like wow, it's just great to be here.” 

Rule was undoubtedly impressive on Saturday. Husker fans are hoping that this is just the start of something big for the freshman, as he looks to make his mark. He certainly was impressive on Saturday, as he became the first freshman since Adrian Martinez in 2018 to rush for over 100 yards.
