No. 2 WR Monshun Sales commits to Indiana over Texas

In the biggest recruiting decision in the history of the Indiana Hoosiers football program, head coach Curt Cignetti and his staff rode the momentum of the school’s first gridiron national championship to land a commitment from consensus five-star wide receiver Monshun Sales on Friday.

The 6’5, 195-pounder chose the Hoosiers over a group of finalists that also included the Texas Longhorns.

Texas was late entering Sales’ recruitment, extending an offer to the nation’s No. 2 wide receiver in early April before getting the Indianapolis (Ind.) Lawrence North produce on campus for unofficial and official visits.

But the opportunity to play close to home for the rising program was too much for Sales to pass up as the Horns were able to make it a close recruitment without making up enough ground to win out.

With three wide receiver pledges in the 2027 class, which currently ranks No. 4 nationally in the 247Sports Composite team rankings, Texas has already assembled an impressive group. Now the main priority becomes holding on to the pledge of New Orleans (La.) Brother Martin standout Easton Royal, who is ranked ahead of Sales in the 247Sports Composite rankings. Royal committed to Texas late last year, but has kept his options open and declined to fully shut down his recruitment after taking official visits to Florida and LSU.
