Notre Dame has been picking up plenty of recruits in the College Football Recruiting trail. Notre Dame recently landed a four-star tight end over multiple other big-name schools and has one of the top classes in the class of 2027.

Now, Notre Dame has added to the class, adding a 5-star offensive tackle, beating out Miami and Texas A&M, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3.

Oluwasemilore Olubobola, the number three-ranked offensive tackle in the class of 2027, has committed to the Irish. He is a 6-foot-6, 295-pound prospect out of St. Peter’s Prep in Jersey City, New Jersey. He had 38 offers from Power Four programs, but ultimately landed at Notre Dame. Olubobola spoke about why during his commitment ceremony on Tuesday.

“They have a strong culture and coaching staff,” Olubobola said of the Fighting Irish before he announced his decision. “They check all the boxes for me. The head coach is a leader of men, the position coach can develop offensive linemen to be the best they can be, and the strength program is legitimate.”

Olubobola is a two-sport athlete who also competes in the shot put in Track and Field. Further, he was selected for the Under Armour All-America Game as a junior.

“A lean, mean and green offensive tackle with a monster ceiling given the combination of his length and twitch,” reads his scouting profile from 247Sports.

Notre Dame now has the fourth-ranked class according to 247Sports. Olubobola leads the class, along with fellow offensive tackle James Halter. The two of them headline a group of 15 commitments for the class of 2027 so far.
