Notre Dame lands blue-chip Chicago defensive lineman Brayden Parks

Notre Dame and head coach Marcus Freeman received a commitment from a four-star defensive lineman, as Chicago's Brayden Parks elected to play for the Fighting Irish. Parks will join Notre Dame as part of their 2027 recruiting class.

It came down to Notre Dame and Oregon for Parks, but the six-foot-one, 310-pound defender has some strong ties to the Fighting Irish program that might've helped him make a decision.

Parks' godfather is former Notre Dame defensive tackle Chris Zorich, and Parks' cousin is former Fighting Irish running back Tony Jones Jr.

The announcement was made on CBS Sports' College Football YouTube channel.

Many major programs were after Parks, such as Ohio State, Michigan, Alabama and Miami. It'll be interesting to see how quickly the heralded prospect gets onto the field for Freeman and the Fighting Irish in a couple of seasons.
